home inspector. He graduated in the top of his class from the American Home Inspectors Training Institute and created his home inspection company, Green Valley Home Inspections LLC.
Since 2007, Kevin has continued his education as a home inspector through the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) sponsored continuing education programs, and achieved certification through United Infrared to become a Certified US Thermographer. Additionally, he has sought additional education, training and certifications in specialty areas, allowing him to expand his offerings and offer specialized inspection services to meet the needs of homeowners, buyers and sellers.

About Us
Founded in 2007 by Kevin Thompson, The Green Valley Group specializes in stucco inspections, home inspections, thermal imaging and building envelope forensic consulting services.
Kevin’s background, having grown up on a six generation black angus cattle farm with a father that worked in the trade, instilled in him the fundamentals of building science at an early age. Early on he learned the importance of doing things right the first time (measure twice, cut once) and that there is no substitution for hard work.
After graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Kevin initially pursued a career in locksmithing, and shortly thereafter, began a real estate investment company that focused on distressed properties throughout Chester County, PA. Through the acquisition of these properties, and the rehab work that immediately followed, Kevin became acutely aware of the ins and outs of the home buying process, including identifying properties, obtaining financing and creating rehab and remediation plans, and then executing those plans with the best, most cost-effective solutions to address the problem and support the long-term goal of protecting the investment.
In 2007, in combination with his upbringing and educational background, and after purchasing and rehabbing a number of homes, Kevin sought additional education to become a

The Green Valley Group provides thorough investigations of the building envelope (Stucco, Stone, EIFS, etc.) in order to uncover hidden problems, the source of those problems, and then provides recommendations that will lead to corrective solutions. We provide services designed to help buyers, sellers and owners navigate the process. The Green Valley Group provides thermal imaging for a variety of applications. Infrared Thermography can be used to evaluate and find anomalies in exterior cladding (stucco) and mechanical/electrical systems, for noninvasive moisture detection, for leak detection on flat roofs, to identify missing insulation in a wall cavity and even for equine thermal imaging. Our inspection and testing programs have been designed to assure a thorough and easy to understand overview of the conditions of a home. As an independent third-party provider of these services, The Green Valley Group commits to helping our clients navigate buying, selling or home ownership with objectivity and professionalism, and to always keep our clients' best interests at heart.In addition to home inspection services, The Green Valley Group’s specialization lies in stucco and exterior cladding inspections, and building envelope forensic consulting, as The Green Valley Group is typically called on to evaluate stucco and EIFS homes for moisture intrusion, causation and corresponding damage. In addition to hundreds of home inspections, to date, The Green Valley Group has conducted thousands of stucco and exterior cladding inspections and has provided owners, buyers and sellers irreplaceable independent third-party consulting to help them to navigate the remediation work that oftentimes follows. This includes evaluating remediation contractor bids to help clients make apples-to-apples comparisons and providing new construction oversight. We also continue to add value by providing expert witness consulting and testimony for litigation cases, for individual homeowners and communities alike.
In August 2012, Vanessa Thompson joined The Green Valley Group as an Operations Manager. Her background in sales, marketing, and director level management, make her well suited to lead the "behind the scenes efforts" of making a rapidly growing small business run smoothly.
In June 2014, Chris Ollis joined The Green Valley Group as a Stucco Inspector. Chris has over 30 years of experience in general contracting, home improvements, property maintenance, warehouse management, and small business ownership.
In October 2015, Matt Dickens joined The Green Valley Group as a Stucco and Home Inspector. His diverse background in engineering, education, and industry has provided a strong foundation in systems analysis, which is crucial when looking at the various parts of a home, and relaying that information to the customer.
The whole team regularly attends industry events, continuing education and training classes and participates in presentations on various building science related topics.
In October 2014, Benjamin Thompson joined the world as Vanessa & Kevin's first child, and Abigail Thompson soon followed in July 2016. They both keep their parents very busy and entertained.
